Ku’uipo Lawler – Founder

Ku’uipoaloha Lawler came from a loving Hawaiian Mother and great Irish Father. I am a hands on Co-Founder. What do I do? Day to day operations. Keeping PIB committed to making high-quality beers. Making sure we maintain the same principles that we started with in 2013 and always sharing the Islander Spirit.

How did it happen? Starting with my nephew Will Fox III Head Brewer Co-Founder. He schooled me in the art of what it takes to make great craft beers. There’s is so much aloha in drinking and making PIB beers. Plus a long time friend and Co-Founder Bob Strangman that listened to my demands while helping me push the cart up the hill.

How did it start and what’s my experience? Taking an idea and making no’s turn into yes’s. Knowing that hard work would lead me to live my dream. You learned it’s not what you bring to the table in experience. Experience is great on paper but it’s paper. What counts is what I am willing to learn every day. Customers are a great help in growing business. Just ask them for help and you will grow.

History

We started the plan to open a production Islander Made craft beer microbrewery in beautiful San Diego, California in early 2013, and decided on March 2013, to open in East San Diego County. In September of 2013 we choose the name Pacific Islander Beer Company and PIB Beer (Pacific Islander BEER). Pacific Islander is a geographic term to describe the inhabitants of any of the three major sub-regions of Oceania: Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia. Head Brewer Will Fox and Co-founder Ku’uipo Lawler having the aloha spirit born in us named the brewery after our heritage. June 2014 we found our location at 8665 Argent St., Suite B, in Santee, CA. On July 1st, 2014 the building officially became Pacific Islander Beer Company. We created an Island vibe tasting and event room with large outdoor patio area. With our production of Islander Made craft beers on June 15th, 2015 we open our mircobrewery. Today you can get bottles and can beers at local stores. Stop in and see for yourself the aloha spirit that we give freely to all our customers! Pacific Islander Beer Company is an Islander bring back the memory of Palms trees, Cool breeze, Cold Beers and a Vide that only comes from our Islander experience. Islander music playing on the patio. Food Trucks sharing their awesome creations. This is the place to share your special time with family, friends and love ones. We have a beautiful patio for drinking beers and enjoying special events like Free monthly Comedy Show.
